My dear Stubbs,
Grindle would like to have a talk with you
about certain matters arising out of the strike at Hong Kong, if you can manage to be in London in the
last week of August.
2. He is on leave at present but returns on
the 23rd.
3. We gather that you were not altogether
satisfied with the way that Jammieson managed things at
Canton, and Wellesley of the Foreign Office is anxious
to get your ideas about a closer and more satisfactory co-operation between Hong Kong and the Consul-Ceneral
at Canton, before you go back.

We can, however, fix up a discussion with
Wellesley
